About Portugal

The Serra da Estrela are the highest mountains in Portugal (2,000m high) and are located in the northeast of the country. There is snow in the winter, there is skiing and they are the "Portuguese Alps" of the country. It is the place where several rivers have their source and it has a glacial valley where melt water comes down in the spring. This trail makes a route through this beautiful mountain area and the landscape changes continuously along the way. Dense green forests, large boulders on peaks, plateaus with a view of Spain and 360 degrees surroundings, mountain streams where you can paddle and swim. As well as deserted slate villages in valleys with a fairytale atmosphere
