The ‘Macizo de Ayllón’ is 90 minutes away from Madrid airport. Three villages are nearby: Tamajón, Campillo de Ranas and Valverde de los Arroyos. With fewer than 200 people living in this area, it has one of the lowest population densities in Europe (8.8 people/km2). 

It’s a beautiful area. A rich fluvial web has shaped many valleys and spectacular canyons, river views and cascades. Tiny abandoned villages in black stone adorn mountain views high up, while red stone dominates the lower skirts around Tamajón village. Features include an abandoned monastery, many abandoned villages, spectacular castle ruins and a great variety of trees and plants. Wolves, vultures and small mammals populate this area.
