Boy van Droffelaar
Community committee
After having fulfilled many executive positions in the international business after retiring in 2008, he started to follow intensive coaching training training. It was also then that his passion became to guide the transformation of leadership in remote and untouched nature. He has since completed more than 12 wilderness trails facilitated in Africa and Ireland. Time and again, it has brought him a deeper awareness, and the value of giving full attention with pure intention. During this work he discovered that the theoretical and empirical underpinnings of the impact of nature on leadership has hardly been explored. He subsequently became an external PhD student at the CulturalGeography Group of Wageningen University & Research. The goal of his research is to demonstrate the positive effects of wilderness experiences on leadership behaviour.
