Terms and conditions
On this page, you will find the terms and conditions that apply to the Wilderness Leadership Transformation Programme – Anniversary Special – Himalaya. These terms and conditions set out the agreements, responsibilities and principles that apply. We recommend reading them carefully before registering.
Organisation
The FNL Anniversary Special is organised by FNL in collaboration with travel organisation Mandala Travel BV (Chamber of Commerce (KVK) no. 90816943). Both the Foundation for Natural Leadership’s (‘FNL’) terms and conditions and those of Mandala Travel apply to this programme.
- Mandala Travel is responsible for the travel component, excluding flights booked by participants themselves, including local transport, accommodation and other travel services.
- FNL is responsible for the programme content, including workshops, guidance, preparation and the leadership programme.
- In the event of any conflict between the two sets of terms and conditions, Mandala Travel’s terms and conditions will prevail for the travel component, and FNL’s terms and conditions will prevail for the programme content.
When registering, the participant must explicitly agree to both sets of terms and conditions. Participation in the programme is not possible without this agreement.
Registration
Registration takes place by signing up for the programme and explicitly agreeing to both FNL’s terms and conditions and those of Mandala Travel.
The registration is accepted upon written confirmation of participation from FNL.
No later than 1 August 2026, FNL, in consultation with Mandala Travel, will decide whether the trip will definitely go ahead.
Only after this final confirmation will invoicing take place. Participation becomes final once the participant has paid the full invoice amount to FNL on time.
If the programme does not go ahead due to an insufficient number of participants or for other compelling organisational reasons, FNL will inform the participant no later than 1 August 2026. In that case, any amounts already paid will be refunded, without entitlement to additional compensation, insofar as mandatory law does not provide otherwise.
Participants
In addition to the facilitators, there is space for a minimum of 9 and a maximum of 12 participants on this trail.
FNL may cancel the programme if the number of participants falls below the minimum required.
The final registration deadline for participants wishing to take part in this programme is 15 September 2026.
Liability and insurance
FNL exercises the greatest possible care in the organisation and delivery of the programme. This also applies to the engagement of travel organisations, guides and the local organisation that provides the guides.
FNL is solely responsible for the programme content. For the travel component, including transport, accommodation and other travel services, the responsibilities and liability provisions of Mandala Travel apply as set out in its terms and conditions.
FNL is not liable for damage arising from risks that are apparent to the participant and inherent in the nature of the programme, unless there is intent or deliberate recklessness on the part of FNL, or insofar as liability cannot be excluded or limited under mandatory law.
The participant is required to take out appropriate travel insurance to cover the risks associated with staying in the wilderness and/or engaging in mountain activities off the beaten track, such as search and rescue. These risks will be discussed during the introductory Foundation Workshop.
For this programme specifically, the travel insurance should include:
- Insurance that covers mountain sports/trekking (no climbing insurance is required, as we will stay on established trails).
- Insurance that covers repatriation from mountainous areas.
- Repatriation in Asia is covered.
FNL strongly recommends that the participant take out appropriate cancellation insurance immediately after official confirmation that the trail will go ahead. The decision on whether the trail will go ahead will be made no later than 1 August 2026, or earlier once the minimum number of participants has been reached, and will be confirmed to the participant in writing by email.
FNL is not liable for damage covered by the participant’s insurance, such as travel, health and cancellation insurance.
The participant must ensure that their mental and physical condition allows them to take part in the programme. The participant must provide any relevant medical information in a timely manner where necessary for safety.
The participant must follow the instructions of guides and facilitators at all times. FNL and/or Mandala Travel may refuse or terminate participation if it is deemed unsafe or irresponsible for the participant or the group.
Cancelation
The cancellation terms take effect once the trail has been officially confirmed by FNL. This confirmation will be given no later than 1 August 2026, or earlier once the minimum number of participants has been reached, and will be communicated to the participant in writing by email.
For participants who register after the date on which the trail has been officially confirmed, the cancellation terms take effect at the time of registration.
If the participant has to cancel their participation in the programme, the following cancellation charges apply:
- Until 1 October 2026: 50% of the programme price
- From 1 October 2026: 100% of the programme price
From 1 October, the mandatory preparation programme begins, including physical training and group development. From that point onwards, replacing the participant is no longer reasonably possible, and the full costs and reserved capacity remain payable.
Until 1 October 2026, in the event of cancellation, the participant may propose a replacement participant. Replacement is only possible with FNL’s prior written approval and provided that the replacement meets the participation requirements. If the place is fully taken over by the replacement, the cancellation charges will no longer apply, except for any costs already incurred and a reasonable administration fee. FNL is not obliged to accept a replacement if, in its opinion, the person is not suitable to participate in the programme.
Cancellation must be submitted in writing by email to info@naturalleadership.eu.
Transfer of participation
Requests to transfer participation to another person for the travel component will be assessed in accordance with Mandala Travel’s terms and conditions.
For the programme content, the additional requirement applies that any replacement participant must meet the participation requirements applicable to this programme. FNL may refuse a replacement participant only on reasonable grounds.
For processing a request to transfer the programme-content component, FNL charges an administration fee of €150 excluding VAT. Any additional amendment or transfer fees charged by Mandala Travel or other parties involved will also be payable by the participant.
Prices
Participants enter into an agreement with FNL and will receive an invoice from FNL for the full amount.
The prices for this programme are set at:
- €8,900 excluding 21% VAT for FNL Member for Life members
- €9,100 excluding 21% VAT for all other interested participants.
FNL Member for Life community members are former participants of one of the following FNL programmes:
- Wilderness trail or quest
- Year Program of Natural Leadership
- Reboot Your Life
Amendment of terms and conditions
FNL reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions before final confirmation of participation if this is reasonably necessary due to changes in laws and regulations, safety requirements, logistical circumstances or changes by Mandala Travel that affect the delivery of the programme. The most recent version of the terms and conditions will be made available to the participant before final confirmation.
