Deep fjords framed by high mountains as a dramatic backdrop. Endless lakes, babbling streams and wild waterfalls in the rugged highlands and among lofty, sweeping peaks. Dense forests teeming with wildlife, both large and small, including moose, foxes, beavers, deer and birds. An extraordinary sense of peace and silence. Here, the pristine beauty of nature and the primal power of Northern Europe come together. This is Norway. The perfect setting for a leadership journey in the wilderness of nature.

How do you, as a leader in the financial sector, help shape the transition towards a sustainable and regenerative economy? With this question as its starting point, the Dutch Banking Association, together with the Foundation for Natural Leadership, is organising a special Wilderness Leadership Trail in Norway.

For one week, participants leave their everyday environment behind and venture into the rugged Norwegian wilderness. Hiking through the wilderness, silence, simplicity and sharing insights provide the foundation for reflecting on personal leadership and the role the financial sector can play in a sustainable future.

programma

The approximately four-month programme takes place largely outdoors, in the pristine nature of Norway. Far removed from the familiar and from our daily routines, we simplify and slow down, reflect and explore personal and societal questions from a different perspective: six days without watches, phones or computers. An important part of the programme is a 36-hour Solo Quest: time alone in nature, without distractions. The trail also includes days of hiking along wilderness paths and through marshland, moments of silence and sharing insights with the group.
