Early Morning Walk on February 8th
Early Morning Walk with Alan Mc Smith February 8th
Would you like to give your sense of connection to yourself and nature a fresh boost? Do you wish to grant yourself a moment of reflection on a quiet, crisp winter morning? Are you eager to be re-inspired by stories and experiences from the wilderness?
On Thursday morning, February 8th, the Foundation for Natural Leadership (FNL) is organizing an ‘early morning walk’ from 8:00 am to 11:00 am with South African guide Alan Mc Smith. This walk will be hosted by FNL facilitators Nienke den Os and Joost Leeflang in the Amsterdamse Bos, near the Zuidas area.
Alan is an experienced nature guide who has dedicated his life to exploration and experiences in the Okavango Delta, drawing wisdom and knowledge from the baYei Bushman, Herero, and Shangaan trackers. He sees the wilderness not as a place to visit but as a way of life.
“Wilderness” is not a place, it’s a way of life. We cannot be sure where our work ends and where our personal space begins. Or if the boundary even exists at all. Our lives are a declaration to share both, and to respectfully suggest that the human experience cries out for harmony with nature. The natural world is not be a thing apart, it is a living comfort that feeds our souls. (https://www.alanmcsmith.com/)
He is visiting the Netherlands and wishes to share his knowledge and experiences with FNL trail-goers and interested individuals.
Location
We will gather at the parking lot next to the Bosbaan in Amsterdam (restaurant de Bosbaan) and then take a walk through the Amsterdam nature under his guidance. Afterward, there will be an opportunity to ask questions and share thoughts ‘talking stick style.’
Cost and Registration
As compensation for Alan’s travel and accommodation costs, we request a contribution of €17.50 incl. VAT for paying FNL members and €19.50 incl. VAT for non-paying FNL members and interested individuals.
