Early Morning Walk with Wilderness Guide Alan Mc Smith

Would you like to boost your sense of connection with both yourself and nature? Do you long for a moment of reflection on a quiet, crisp autumn morning? And would you like to be inspired by stories and experiences from the wilderness?

On Tuesday morning, October 8, the Foundation for Natural Leadership (FNL) is organizing an ‘early morning walk’ from 7:30 to 10:30 AM with South African guide Alan Mc Smith, hosted by FNL facilitator Nienke den Os in the Amsterdamse Bos, close to the Zuidas.

Alan is an experienced nature guide who, through dedicating his life to discovery and experiences in the Okavango Delta, and through his connection with the wisdom and knowledge of the baYei Bushman, the Herero, and Shangaan trackers, no longer sees the wilderness as a place to visit but as a way of life.

Alan is visiting the Netherlands and is eager to share his knowledge and experiences with FNL trail participants. We will gather at the parking lot next to the Bosbaan in Amsterdam (near the Bosbaan restaurant) and then take a walk under his guidance through the natural surroundings of Amsterdam. Afterward, there will be an opportunity to ask questions and share experiences in a “talking stick” style.

To cover Alan’s travel and accommodation expenses, we ask for a contribution of €17.50 (and €19.50 for non-FNL members), including VAT. (Those interested who have no trail experience are also welcome).
